Genshin Impact: 5 Tips for Relaxed Exploration and Combat

Hey, fellow Genshin travelers! ✨ Are you like me—just vibing with the stunning landscapes and letting the combat flow naturally? I've spent countless hours wandering through Teyvat, and I've picked up some tips that help keep my exploration fun and my combat stress-free. Whether you're just starting out or have been playing for a while, I hope these tips make your journey even more enjoyable!

Oh, and before we dive in, I have to say—Liyue Harbor? Absolutely gorgeous. It's hands-down one of my favorite spots for scenery (along with the dreamy Court of Fontaine). Okay, let's jump in!

1. Build a Balanced, Cozy Team

I love playing with a team that feels both effective and comfortable for me. My go-to team setup includes:

  • Potata (the main character, Level 40 Ascended 1ce)

  • Kadir (Level 40)

  • Keqing (Level 40)

  • Amber (Level 31)

I'm also slowly building up Xiangling to join my favorites! This team gives me a mix of strong elemental reactions and flexible playstyles, making combat feel smooth without being overwhelming. I highly recommend experimenting with characters that feel intuitive to you rather than always chasing the meta.

2. Explore Without Pressure

One of my favorite things about Genshin Impact is simply exploring. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by quests or boss fights, try spending some time just wandering. The peaceful scenery in areas like Liyue Harbor and Court of Fontaine feels like a breath of fresh air. Sometimes I'll just stroll through these regions, admire the views, and pick up local specialties.

Pro tip: Bring Amber or another bow user for easy access to distant resources like Crystalflies and food ingredients!

3. Embrace Elemental Synergy

For relaxed combat, combining your team’s elements can make battles feel smoother and faster. For example, my team’s Keqing (Electro) paired with Potata’s Anemo skills creates solid Swirl reactions that handle groups of enemies efficiently. Experiment with different combinations and see what works best for you!

I love using Keqing’s fast attacks to trigger reactions, then swapping to Kadir or Amber for precise hits. It’s simple but effective without feeling overwhelming.

4. Level Strategically (And Don’t Rush It!)

I used to stress about leveling my characters as fast as possible, but honestly? Taking it slow has been way more enjoyable. Focus on leveling your favorites rather than spreading resources too thin. I’ve kept my main team at around Level 40 Ascended 1ce, and it’s been more than enough for relaxed exploration and questing.

I’m gradually bringing Xiangling up to match my other characters, and it’s been so rewarding to see her progress over time. Don’t feel pressured to max out everyone all at once—enjoy the journey!

5. Create Your Own Adventure

The best part of Genshin Impact is how flexible the game can be. Some days, I’m grinding domains for artifacts; other days, I’m just chasing pigeons in Mondstadt or cooking weird food combinations. Don’t be afraid to set your own pace!

For me, naming my main character Potata (a playful nod to my love for potatoes in literally any form) made my journey even more personal. Whether it’s silly nicknames, cozy team setups, or peaceful exploration in your favorite region, Genshin Impact is all about making it your own.

What’s your favorite region to explore? Do you have a go-to team setup that makes Genshin feel like a cozy adventure? Let’s chat in the comments—I’d love to hear your tips and stories! 🌟
